ABOUT MILLS MONTESSORI
Mills Montessori has been a leading institution for the education of children in the Montessori method. We take pride in the caliber of our curriculum and invite interested parties to visit our school and speak with our parents and staff for a more in depth understanding of what we have to offer.

To the Staff of Mills Montessori School,
I Would like to commend the staff of Mills Montessori School for
their outstanding efforts to continuously provide excellent
curriculum. In the span of six years, I have had three children
enrolled in the school and I have been very impressed of their levels of success in academics and social skills. I believe that as a parent, one has to instill good foundation early on a child's life. I feel that Montessori has helped me achieve that goal. I feel very fortunate to have found such a school in which the staffs are compassionate and friendly.
I am very thankful for all the years that you have provided my
children wonderful beginnings. Keep up the wonderful job!

We are pleased to have our daughter attend Mills Montessori School. Mills
Montessori fosters academic and social development through a challenging, stimulating.
and warm environment. We appreciate the professionalism, expertise. and overall
positive regard for students demonstrated by Dr. Fallah, Mrs. Simin Fallah, and the Mills
teachers. We feel fortunate that our daughter is learning in a culturally diverse setting
that promotes a sense of community, a sense of family. Mills also provides an
atmosphere of security, safety, and lots of fun where self-confidence and creativity are
nurtured. Most importantly, our daughter is enjoying Mills Montessori.

Dear Ms. Simin and the
teachers and staff of Mills Montessori,
We are so grateful we found your amazing
school on the hill. Little did I know when I
would drive by 24 years ago on my way to
work what a big part of our lives it would be.
Thank you so much for taking such good
care of William and Hayden and being the
best teachers we could have hoped for.
They are both thriving and absolutely love
school.

Dear Dr. Fallah and Ms. Simin,
I am writing on behalf of my husband and myself to thank you for the excellent care and education our daughter
Mary Jane received while attending Mills Montessori for the past three years. Her growth in all academic
areas has been outstanding---thanks to the excellent instruction and care of the teachers at Mills. Moreover,
her development as a human being has been tremendously influenced by the healthy social environment and
creative activities fostered by the entire staff. As parents, we always felt our observations or concerns about our
daughter's performance were treated with respect and heard. Mills Montessori school is a fine institution and I
believe the best Montessori program in the area. We feel fortunate that our daughter's foundation was nurtured in
a place that truly values all that education should be and teaches to the whole child. I am sure she will continue to
flourish from here on out thanks to you.

We had been searching for a daycare/school for my son since he was born. He had been on a few waitlists for immersion schools and we kept the search going. Mills was one of a few that was a full on campus instead of an in-home care.
My son started this school in September and we could not be happier with the outcome. The teachers were extremely thorough with feedback and made us feel safe. As a parent, the safety and comfort of my child is a priority.
When our son was there for his first week, they would call and let me know if he wasn't transitioning well. They offered different methods to help make him feel comfortable and safe. The staff was extremely patient and understanding with his needs. I would leave with him crying and come back to him crying for a week. It was tough, but they assured me that this was normal and walked me through reassuring him that "Mommy and Daddy will always come back." We started to talk about school more often at home and he started to get acclimated to the routine. After the second week, he was all smiles at drop off and pick up. Now, when his father picks him up from school, he doesn't even want to leave.
He's learned so much. Hearing him sing different songs, talk about different holidays, playing and interacting with others so well, makes me so proud.
I highly recommend all parents to tour this school. Get to know the teachers and watch how they interact with your child when you're there. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I hope you fall in love with the school and staff as much as I have.
Transitioning is hard, and finding a school with a team of teachers who make you feel safe and trust is even harder. I'm a full believer in Montessori and now an advocate for Mills Montessori.

We've been attending Mills Montessori School for a little less than a school year. The principal enrolled our son very quickly, without placing us on a waiting list. She was very flexible and responded to our mid-year enrollment request promptly.
We loved our experience at Mills Montessori and wouldn't have left if we hadn't decided to join a public school.
I will only describe the pros here, as the cons were so minor that we were able to address them easily:
* The school is located in a beautiful area, surrounded by mountains and eucalyptus trees.
* The premises are spacious and well-equipped. They have a designated playground with a bouncy castle, a soccer field, and an assembly hall.
* The security and check-in/check-out system are designed to ensure that your child is always in safe hands. You hand your child directly to the caregiver, sign them in, and are not allowed beyond the welcoming area. The caregiver greets your child by name and personally takes them to the classroom area, which is located away from the entrance and separated by the playground.
* For check-out, the doors remain locked, and you must call ahead. A teacher will personally bring your child to you.
* The school offers meals for kids throughout the day from a caterer. While this might sound standard, most daycares in San Francisco do not provide meals.
I was 100% satisfied with this system, as safety and health are the most important factors for young children, even above educational programs.
* Our first teacher, Ms. Yazmin, exceeded our expectations. She is young but very attentive and cares deeply about each child's individual personality.
* The school also organized a variety of events for children and parents throughout the year. The respect the staff had for children, their needs, and overall discipline made us very happy.
* Our son attended soccer classes. The school offers physical activities, language lessons, and other classes all within the premises, so there's no need to take your child elsewhere for extracurriculars. This level of convenience is a huge benefit for parents.
We toured many schools in San Francisco (where we live, which is quite far from Mills), but none came close to what Mills offered, especially considering the tuition.
All the daycares in SF we visited were dirty, cramped, and lacked outdoor spaces. The children were huddled into small areas, and you could easily enter the main room where the kids were playing directly from the street. Only a glass door of an old Victorian building separated random passersby from your child, who would spend the entire day in a confined space instead of running, exploring, and moving freely.

I attended Mills Montessori many, many moons ago (in the 1990's), but only just learned that schools could be reviewed on Yelp and as such, felt the need to share my experiences because the school still does have some familiar faces for me.
While I only attended the school for 3 or 4 short years, those years were a central part of my development as a person. The atmosphere and culture of the school was one that fosters enrichment and individual learning in a way that is inclusive and open. One of my fondest memories is the school program called "Around the World in 80 Minutes" where all of the students were able to wear cultural clothing and introduce themselves and the country they were from, as well as exhibit cultural dance and performance. I was very young, probably only in first or second grade, but I still fondly remember how we came together as a school to make the program a success.
I think that's one of the major strengths of this school: creating a sense of achievement and capability in its students. Simin and her late husband were very much like my family away from home and helped to lay a foundation for me to always seek knowledge and be confident in my abilities. Mills Montessori prepared me for a successful academic career, and I'm extremely grateful for the years I spent there.

Our daughter has been going to Mills for two years now and our experience at this school has been nothing short of fantastic. We are very pleased with how much she has improved and how much
she continues to improve. I appreciate how they go at the pace of each child, it makes all the children comfortable and happy to go to school everyday.
It is a great environment for children to learn, there classrooms are full of age appropriate Montessori material which my daughter loves especially the sensory play.
Ms. Simin is the director of the facility and nothing I mean NOTHING gets past her. She does a phenomenal job in keeping the school in order. She has been running the school for 30+ years so she is also very knowledgeable in child development and child education. She's awesome with the children but also firm when need be.
The school is VERY clean (I'm OCD clean) so they get an A+ in my book for cleanliness and organization. The school is beautiful and you can tell they put a lot of attention to detail in each classroom.
I would recommend Mills to any parents looking for a school that has a structured environment with rules and activities set in place for a good first foundation in their child's learning future.
Thank you Mills!

My son has been attending this great school for 3 months. I have always wanted my kids to go there. He has learned so much and improved many skills in such a short period. He won't stop talking about his "new school". When I pick him up he always says he wants to stay at school some more. He loves his teachers and the director has been kind to us and always answers any questions we may have. The school is very diverse in terms of student population and staff which is great to see. Grateful to live near an amazing school. Thank you Simin and all the wonderful, pleasant & competent teachers.

Mills Montessori is a great school. We love the settings there -- nested in the hills of South San Francisco, it is serene and close to nature. The buildings are newly renovated from a former public school and is bright and cheerful with lots of open space.
The director, Simin is great and caring. The teachers are wonderful too. My s4 year old son has been there for 2 years and is learning so much.
It is too bad that because of my job change situation I cannot send my son there anymore. I will miss the place and the staff there.
If you hear of any openings there, grab it!!

My son has been going to this amazing school for 3 years now and choosing this school for my son as a place to learn has been one of the best decisions I've made! They not only care about the children but focus on their development too. The staff are all so sweet and caring makes drop offs worry free. My son always comes home happy to tell me all the things he's learned and always looks forward to going to school the next day! I definitely recommend this school!

Great school with great teachers! The staff goes over and beyond for the children. I knew this was the right school for my 2 year old as soon as I took the tour. One year later, this school is still impressing me! We love Mills and their total dedication to the children!!

My daughter and son went there. My daughter was able to finish grammar school, but due to an unfortunate event my son wasn't. My daughter started at her new school well prepared. As for pre-k to 1st grade, the staff is top notch. I've seen shy, quiet kids come in, only to eventually break out of their shells. Problem kids become, good kids, but don't get me wrong they can't fix everyone, but they try their best. I've seen them take on kids not welcome at other schools, because of various reasons. They will try their best, I know for a fact that if your kid doesn't read, they will by the time they leave 1st grade. The seasoned 1st grade teacher is the most dedicated teacher I have ever met, when she retires it will be a definite tragedy.
